Programming T1/D4 Trunks

Before You Begin

Ensure that:

• A T1/E1 Combo Module or Dual T1/E1 Framer Module is programmed. Refer to Program Controller Modules for more information.

• Interconnect Restriction and Intercept Handling is programmed for each trunk.

For a description of T1/D4 signaling and features, refer to T1/D4 Description.

For instructions on how to configure T1/E1 trunk resiliency, refer to the Resiliency guide on the Mitel documentation web site.

NOTE: MSDN/DPNSS is not supported for T1/E1 trunks connected to T1/E1 Dual Framer modules.

Programming

To program T1/D4 trunks:

1. Digital Link Descriptors form

• Enter "T1D4" in the Integrated Digital Access field.
  T1 supports CSU mode and DSX-1 mode. 

2. Digital Links form

• Enter the digital link descriptor number programmed in step 1.

3. Class of Service Options form

• Set the ANI/DNIS ISDN Number Delivery Trunk field to "Yes" (if provided).

4. Complete one of the following:

5. Trunk Circuit Descriptor - Digital CO form

6. Trunk Circuit Descriptor - Digital DID form

5. Trunk Circuit Descriptor - Digital E and M form

5. Trunk Attributes form

• Enter the COS number programmed in step 3.

• Complete the Non-dial in Trunks Answer Point fields (CO and E&M).

• Complete the Dial in Trunks: Incoming Digit Modification fields (DID).

6. Digital Trunks form

• Enter a Trunk Number, Trunk Service Number (from step 5), Circuit Descriptor (from step 4), and Interconnect Number.

7. Network Synchronization form (optional)

• Assign a source connection to a Network Source Clock.

8. Trunk Groups form

• For outgoing trunks, assign the trunk number (from step 6) to a trunk group.
